VOLUNTEERS make the entire Science Fest succeed.

Chaperones, parents and teachers, siblings, people interested in launching a local fair back home … YOU are welcome to VOLUNTEER with the Ying TRSEF!

2. Complete and return the Volunteer Application. PDF also available.
3. Email or phone (315-468-1025) the Ying TRSEF if you don’t hear within four days about your assignment.

Let us spoil you a bit. All-day volunteers on Saturday enjoy our pizza party at 5:00 for free, and our Sunday all-day volunteers join the judges for their lunch buffet.

JUDGING You may judge in a group that does not include your family or students. Just click to our Judges page and register! We need at least 75 judges on March 18th, so you could make a huge difference.

FRIDAY HELPERS
5:00-8:00 p.m. only
* 8-10 people: Set up all buildings for the weekend

SATURDAY HELPERS
* 2-3 people: Assist Ying Scholar Finals – (one person would stay on to assist the judges during deliberation; the rest could switch to Rube Goldberg and/or helping demonstrations set up)- 9-noon
* One videographer and two still photographers to take candids and formals throughout the day (our professional photographer will be the team leader and coordinator)
* 5 people: Assist with Rube Goldberg Machine Contest – noon-3 pm
* 4 people: Display and Safety team (trained on site) – 12-6 pm
* 4 people: Student Registration (trained on site) – 11 am – 5 pm
* 2 people: Host Volunteer Station / Information Table (or four could rotate for the day with our committee person)

SUNDAY HELPERS
* One videographer: Capture footage for our fair videos
* 2 still photographers: Take candids and formals throughout the day and at Awards Ceremony
* 3-4 people: Judge Registration – 9:00-10:45 am
* 12-14 people: Security 11:30 am – 4:30 pm
* 8 people: Awards processing – Training begins around noon; process results and prep awards until 4:45 pm
* 4 people: Hosting Awards Ceremony – Help final set and tech check 2:30; set aside student seating at front 3:00-4:00; guide students to stage and photo station and back to seats 4:30-6:00.
* 2 people: Host Volunteer Station / Information Table (or four could rotate for the day with our committee person)
