Onondaga Community College to host Tri Region Science Fest – March 20-21, 2010
Not only will Onondaga Community College host the Ying TRSEF – our middle and high school science fair – but we will for the first time also feature:
… FREE professional development workshops for K-16 educators and professional engineers;
… the Finals of the Ying Scholar Competition for two $1000 scholarships;
… Upstate’s first Rube Goldberg Machine Contest for undergraduate and graduate students!
… We’ve even invented a new contest – The Rube Goldberg Career Track – for faculty, industry and skilled trades challenges.
Remember – since fair students set up their projects for final Display and Safety check on SATURDAY, you will be in Syracuse for both days already!

Fair Dates are NO PROBLEM!!
Don’t worry about your fair date! We work with fair directors to arrange “placeholder” registration so we recruit enough judges; they provide the names and project topics of their finest competitors as soon as they hold their fair. Is your fair after the Ying TRSEF? We will put together a partnership so students can attend both. Contact the Fair Director for more information.

MEET THE TRSEF: Students in 27 counties across northern, western and southern New York listed below attend the Tri Region Science and Engineering Fair (TRSEF), your regional fair in Syracuse. Will you be there, too? Join middle and high school students for a day immersed in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics, as judges ask Research Students about their experiments, and Poster Presenters about their selected topic. Why do this? You will adventure into a field you choose, even work with a mentor as you explore your topic. Plus advancement to international and other competitions and dozens of other awards wait for you.

FREE bus from Orange and Rockland Counties
ETM Solar will sponsor a FREE BUS from Orange and Rockland counties to bring students and chaperones to the TRSEF weekend. Contact the Fair Director if you want to sponsor a bus from YOUR county!
